Stereoview characteristics

Each SDV view has a unique 3- or 4-digit number, usually applied by hand. The stereoviews were sold in series of ten. Each series was dedicated to a battlefield, location or campaign. Some slides were available in both 45x107mm and 6x13cm format, others only in the 45x107mm format. Several slides have both an LSU number and/or abbreviation and an SDV number, confirming the relationship between the two companies.
